At robin's, select the option to build farm buildings.
Only the 3rd barn/coop upgrade has the autofeeder.
The silo has nothing to do with autofeeding besides storing the hay for the barn/coop.
Any barn or coop that is not fully upgraded will not autofeed even if there is another of the same building on the farm that is fully upgraded.
Yes, you have to upgrade your coop/barn to deluxe version.
If you only have basic coop/barn, you still need to take the hays out manually.
Whenever i went into the chicken coop to the place where you need to place the hay, it will tell me to built a silo.
