In summary, i feel like the thriller bark arc does many things truly unique.
While i feel like oda could have done more unique things, i enjoy this arc for how different it feels from other arcs and how joyful it is tone.

The premise and setting are really something else, we had plenty of goofy elements, good gags and funny crew dynamics, which are part of the appeal.

You just need to get a bit farther into the arc to get to the better parts of it, because it definitely gets more epic.

Most of the encounters in this arc rely on multiple members of the crew, the only real exceptions to this being zoro vs.
Ryuma and usopp vs.
Perona but both of these matches make a point to.
It seems like every reactor that i've seen dislikes the thriller bark arc, but to me it's among my favorite arcs even to this day.
Maybe because i really love halloween.
It has everything indeed, not dragging on forever, funny moments, action packed, good fights, great artwork.
It is my favorite arc.
With my favorite luffy varient.
It's a comedy arc sandwiched between two major serious, dramatic arcs that are fan favorites.
This arc tends to meander a lot.
