Hi all, all this talk of unicode handling has brought up a problem i run into every so often.

But there are no deprecated warnings with ruby 1. 9. 2.

Iconv will be deprecated in the future, use string#encode instead.

What could be the cause here?

It seems that you generally have to have one whole version with deprecation to then remove the functions.

There are exceptions to this, but if you use that as a rule of thumb, the iconv ini options should vanish in 8 :) 162k subscribers in the php community.
