An impacted/retroactive drop petition should be used to drop the following classes:

An impacted course during the term after the friday of week 2 impacted course drop deadline;

Certain courses that are always in high demand have impacted status, which means that they cannot be dropped beyond the end of the 2nd week of the quarter.

Each impacted course is.

Impacted course drops processed after friday of week two, and nonimpacted course drops processed after friday of week four, are permanently recorded on the transcript.

An impacted course is one for which demand exceeds the number of seats available.

Undergraduate students cannot drop an impacted course after friday of the second week of a term for other than exceptionally extenuating circumstances.
