The arc is spliced between two very serious arcs:

Its unfortunate that thriller bark was sandwiched between two of the best arcs in one piece.

It wasnt the worst arc or the most boring, and it does set up some recurring characters and introduces brook.

When their shadows are stolen by gecko moria, they must scramble to get them back before morning.

Things get even more bonkers from there, but in the end they went up taking on a new crewmate, brook.
