I recently moved to sf after contacting 24 different places, 3 were scams.
2 of those scams were from craigslist, i gave up on that site and used apartments. com, zillow. com, & ziprent.
Craigslist is still good, but just be weary of too good to be true type deals, which are usually scams.
Most independent, mom and pop landlords still use this site.
If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is!
