He idolizes other shooters.

He might draw pictures of the event and make web postings.

Active shooter one or more subjects who participate in a shooting, random or systemic with the intent to continuously harm others.

In most cases active shooters use firearms and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims.

But other weapons such have knives, cross bows, vehicles have been used.

In the instance of an active shooter, every second counts.

So, remember these three key steps:

Run, hide, and fight.

If you determine that you can reach an escape path to a safer area, then get out.

Be aware of your surroundings.

Have an exit plan.

Move away from the threat as quickly as possible.
