Once you build and fill your first silo for your coop/barn (whichever you prefer for whichever farm map!) you can pull all the hay out of the hopper and put it in a chest!

Then rinse and repeat as necessary as the silo fills up again.

The normal barn and big barn both require you manually feed your animals, or at least let them outside.

You withdraw the hay from the full thing inside the barn, then plop it on the shelf like normal.

If your silo ever gets full, completely empty the feeder before cutting the grass.

Once you have a silo, any grass that's scythed down has a chance of becoming hay and being automatically placed into the silo.

Interacting with the silo just shows it's capacity.

Silo supplies are dispensed within the coop/barns, you have to extract from there and place it on the bed/bench inside.

Put a chest inside one of your barns and fill that up with feed, you can refill your silos by getting a stack from your chest and left clicking the actual feed dispenser inside the barn / coop.

Every slot in the chest holds 999 feeds, way more than 240 of one silo.

Also saves you materials.

Each silo can store up to 240 hay.

The current amount stored can be checked by interacting with it.

If the player owns multiple silos, it shows the combined total storage and capacity of all silos on the farm.

Hay stored in the silo is accessible through the hay hoppers located inside coops and barns to be used for feeding their respective animals.
