Take the hay from the box inside your barn, it'll give you the amount you need for the animal inside, and place it in the feeding area.

The regular barn doesnt auto feed hay.

I can't build a silo?

The only thing i can get from the carpenter's shop is a coop, which i already have with 1 chicken.

I'm in the 3rd day of summer, when the earthquake occurred.

Do i have to wait or something?

I have 100g, 100 stone, 10 clay, and 5 copper bars.

You have to manually take hay from the hay hopper inside the barn and coop and put it on the feeding shelf.

If you are not manually moving hay early on then no hay is being pulled from the silo.

When (and if) you upgrade the barn and coop enough then it will automatically move from the hopper to the shelf.

I'm on a pixel (so android version) and i'm experiencing this as well!

I stocked up on hay last fall using the chest next to the chute method fully expecting to restock once spring came around but the silo has 20 more than it's supposed to be able to hold.

You might want to save up for if you run out, or for winter.

You can't remove the hay straight from the silo;

Only from the coop/barn, and only when the feeding tray is empty.

Yes, you have to upgrade your coop/barn to deluxe version.

If you only have basic coop/barn, you still need to take the hays out manually.
