Overview
The problem with rewriting is that you are changing everything and not necessarily everything needs to be changed, also if you feel you have to rewrite you don't actually know the problem.
I do story/plot edits to my first draft first, making sure everything is internally consistent, while ignoring grammar/sentence/flow problems, and start on a new document for the second draft.
