So i just had a 36 week check up, i’m 36+3, and upon my first cervix check i’m 3 cm dilated and 75% effaced!

Tomorrow i turn 39 weeks.

I have been 3cm dilated for a week now.

She said not to worry about coming in today if i lose my mucus plug unless i have contractions.

Went to be checked and monitored today after having sweep yesterday and losing a lot of mucus.

These terms refer to your cervix.

3 cm dilated means that the circumference of your cervical opening is 3 cm.

Effacement is when the cervix shortens, becoming softer and thinner in preparation for your baby's birth.

During pregnancy, your cervix is about 3. 5 to 4 centimeters long.
