Since 2018, there has been a 31% decline in discipleship among black men, as 45% feel that religion and church are unimportant to them.

The following are some reasons for the decline and failure of the church to effectively reach todays twenty first century culture:

We are getting older if you take the time to look over todays congregations;

They are much older.

During the pandemic and over the past two years, one in eight churches in my area alone has failed or closed.

However, there has been a significant decline in the attendance of black men in the church.

For the black church to remain relevant, it may need to address systemic concerns, promote inclusivity, and embrace more progressive leadership models.

Providing platforms for black men to lead, voice concerns, and engage in meaningful dialogue could reinvigorate participation.

The biggest problem facing the black church is faith without works.

Faith without works is dead.

The black church body including the preacher and 90% of the church members have faith, fervor, and excitement but no action behind it.

The church can no longer wait for black men to come to the church.

Jesus commissioned the church to go and make disciples wherever they are!
