I personally would much prefer this type bed over a typical pickup bed or a dedicated flatbed for a nice work truck.

Jul 7, 2018 · if it matters to anyone here is the 26000 gvw truck with 12000 payload i mentioned above, it is box van not flatbed, i looked at too many to keep them straight in my head.

Johnoder is right jacks and timbers is the cheapest but make sure you have plenty of blocks and only lower 4 at a time and make sure you have at least 4 stacks per side.

Cold saws are awesome if you need pretty dang good surface finish and very good angles, a chop saw won't be on that level but it does do fairly good, definitely close enough for.

Anybody got any idea on what it may be.

Mar 23, 2019 · the emax stuff is confusing, it looks almost identical to the polar units but there’s a couple minor differences.

The emax is more expensive but i can get them through online dealers and even home depot.

Polar is cheaper and ships direct and seems slightly better.

Weird they’d have twin options like that.

May 25, 2006 · for a 1/2 ton pickup i think that a gin pole set up would be the most that you could really use.

Use a pair of tubes/pipes mounted to some type of quick connects on each side of the bumper or flatbed(not sure if pick up box or flatbed).

Use wire rope from top of gin pole to front of bed and connected there to the frame.
